Lemonade Stand Lemonade Anyone?

When 8 yr old Aidan from Alexandria, VA and his parents decided to put up a lemonade & cupcake stand one quiet, sunny, May afternoon, they had no idea it would spark an idea that could potentially help thousands.

With no advertising or any real goal in sight (other than just turn a boring Saturday morning into a fun one) Aidan put a table on the front lawn, a few chairs and a hand-drawn sign and sat. He waited for thirsty neighbors, joggers, dog walkers, or anyone simply interested in meeting a lemonade selling 8 yr old. In between waiting and blowing bubbles, he rode his scooter, typical of a boy who has energy to burn.

Amazingly, he didn’t have to wait long. After just 2 hours, Aidan’s lemonade stand had lots of visitors, and his stand brought in $30! Shocked at his earnings, his parents asked what he wanted do with the money, Aidan suggested donating some of it. After some thought, his parents decided to donate $25.00 to One Brick.

Aidan had a blast and was so excited about his donation, he suggested doing it again, but next time, donating to a different charity, his preference: one that “saved trees or helped stop pollution.” This sparked a genius idea and his parents decided to make it a reality. They immediately founded “Aidan’s Lemonade Stand” a non-profit organization with one simple goal: raising money to help others. They began contacting charitable organizations and are organizing their very first charitable event partnering with One Brick on 27 June 2015.

Stop by between 1-3pm at 4300 Granada St in Alexandria, VA to try Aidan’s Lemonade and support One Brick!

About One Brick

One Brick brings volunteers together to support other non-profit organizations by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event, we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or cafe where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting.

Our 'commitment-free volunteering' allows you to choose when you volunteer, rather than having to make commitments for a certain number of volunteer hours, or agree to be available every week at a specific time.

Volunteering made easy!
